How Does Hosted PBX Work?

The Right Deployment
There are many ways to connect IP telephones to your network, our team can help you customize your deployment to make sure it suits your needs.
Typical Office Network
Office deployments can vary, but typically computers are connected to a LAN switch which is connected to the internet router. When accessing the internet, the router is sending and receiving data through your internet connection. Internet connections can vary by speed and type, see our Internet Options >>
As Easy as Plug and Play?
The advantage of a Hosted PBX service is that you only need IP telephones for your employees. Simply connect the pre-configured IP phones to your LAN switch and when the phones receive an IP address from your router, your line with all the advanced Call Features >> will be active.
No Extra Cables or Switch Ports?
Since most businesses already have network cabling in place, it might be difficult to add new cables fo rthe IP telephones. We support numerous models of IP phones that have a computer connection at the back of the phone. You can simply connect existing cable from the switch to the phone and use the new cable supplied with the phone to connect your computer.
Public or Private Connection?
When IP phones use your existing Internet connection, the voice traffic is going over the public internet to communicate with our data center, like the majority of VoIP service providers. You can improve the quality and security of your voice communication by using our Internet which provides a direct connection with our voice network as well as a router with Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities.
Dedicated VoIP Connection
For larger offices, your Internet may not be sufficient to handle all voice and data traffic, even with prioritization. To ensure this does not happen, we can provide you a dedicated IP connection used only for your voice traffic. Not only will it support more concurrent calls, but your voice traffic will stay on our private network instead of the public internet, increasing the security of your solution.
Calling When the Power is Out
Yes. We embrace technologies like Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) which allow you to use fewer electrical outlets and back up using a UPS battery for the switch to make and receive calls.
